Thank you so much for joining us, Patrick. We love to start off learning a little more about you. Could you tell us about yourself, your background, and how you got started in the fitness industry?
I grew up in South Jersey and attended the University of Delaware where I earned my Bachelor’s in Education with a concentration in Special Education. I am currently a full-time high school special educator in Cecil county Maryland. I started my fitness career with a cycle certification in college and have been adding certifications ever since. I’ve been teaching boxing-style classes for over 4 years and love to punch and kick my way to fitter, stronger me!
Wow, four years of experience in boxing style classes! I bet we’ll see some new how-to videos from you on social media soon. We’d love to hear your thoughts on what sets Jabz Boxing apart from other boxing-inspired concepts. What makes us unique?
Jabz Boxing is unique because it takes the uniqueness of boxing and pairs it up with a HIIT-style format. We have actual bags and a ring that we use to perfect our strikes, all while holding ourselves accountable to the effort by using clear intervals of work and rest. Every day works on a different [muscle] focus to allow for you to never be bored.
Why do you love about coaching/leading fitness classes?
Coaching is a real honor for me. I get to help others find their “why” and I get to be right there with them as they work to their best effort for each and every class. I am a hands-on coach so I love to not only model what we are doing, but I will also get right in there with my participants and show them they are not alone in this journey. The coolest thing about coaching is getting to be a witness and active member of others’ fitness journeys!
I know we don’t fight opponents at Jabz Boxing, but we’re still curious – if you could pick anyone, dead or alive, who would you like to be in a boxing match with?
If I could be in The Ring with anyone it would have to be The Rock because, well, it’s The Rock!
