Jabz Boxing, where gritty boxing gym meets luxury boutique studio, announces a new multi-unit agreement has been signed to bring the concept to San Antonio, TX. Jabz Boxing offers circuit-style fitness classes that blend elements of kickboxing, plyometrics, HIIT, and more. Each studio is outfitted with a custom boxing ring with 12 different bags. The fun and fast-paced classes are designed to help anyone “come as you are, leave stronger.” Husband and wife duo Cid and Chandra Abrahams will bring three studio locations to the San Antonio area over the coming years.
Cid and Chandra have long aspired to own a business, and because they have two young children and full-time jobs, they knew the franchise model offered the structure and support to meet their goals. After trying the Jabz Boxing workout and meeting the team, they were hooked.
“The Jabz Boxing workout is approachable, fun, and easy to scale to provide a challenge for anyone of any age or fitness level,” shared Chandra. “We love how community-focused the Jabz Boxing concept is, and we are excited to offer something unique to the San Antonio fitness market.”
“The Jabz Boxing team offers strong systems and great leadership,” added Cid. “We are excited to partner with this team to open our first business and learn from their expertise and operational plans as we bring the concept to Texas.”
The announcement comes as Jabz Boxing continues to expand into key markets across the country, including an agreement in Bowie, MD announced last month and several recent studio openings, including Bel Air, MD, and Wesley Chapel, FL. Jabz Boxing offers its franchise partners a robust business training system to help new franchise owners become champion-level studio operators.
Thank you so much for joining us, Patrick. We love to start off learning a little more about you. Could you tell us about yourself, your background, and how you got started in the fitness industry?
I grew up in South Jersey and attended the University of Delaware where I earned my Bachelor’s in Education with a concentration in Special Education. I am currently a full-time high school special educator in Cecil county Maryland. I started my fitness career with a cycle certification in college and have been adding certifications ever since. I’ve been teaching boxing-style classes for over 4 years and love to punch and kick my way to fitter, stronger me!
Wow, four years of experience in boxing style classes! I bet we’ll see some new how-to videos from you on social media soon. We’d love to hear your thoughts on what sets Jabz Boxing apart from other boxing-inspired concepts. What makes us unique?
Jabz Boxing is unique because it takes the uniqueness of boxing and pairs it up with a HIIT-style format. We have actual bags and a ring that we use to perfect our strikes, all while holding ourselves accountable to the effort by using clear intervals of work and rest. Every day works on a different [muscle] focus to allow for you to never be bored.
Why do you love about coaching/leading fitness classes?
Coaching is a real honor for me. I get to help others find their “why” and I get to be right there with them as they work to their best effort for each and every class. I am a hands-on coach so I love to not only model what we are doing, but I will also get right in there with my participants and show them they are not alone in this journey. The coolest thing about coaching is getting to be a witness and active member of others’ fitness journeys!
I know we don’t fight opponents at Jabz Boxing, but we’re still curious – if you could pick anyone, dead or alive, who would you like to be in a boxing match with?
If I could be in The Ring with anyone it would have to be The Rock because, well, it’s The Rock!
Jabz Boxing continues to expand into key markets across the country, including a recently opened location in Wesley Chapel, FL, and locations coming soon in San Antonio, TX, and Bowie, MD. Jabz Boxing, where gritty boxing gym meets luxury boutique studio, announces a new agreement has been signed to bring the concept to Bowie, MD. Jabz Boxing offers circuit-style fitness classes that blend elements of kickboxing, plyometrics, HIIT, and more in a curated setting that includes a custom boxing ring with 12 different bags. The fun and fast-paced classes are designed to help anyone “come as you are, leave stronger.” The new studio will open under owner Carmen Williams.
Carmen brings to her ownership journey decades of experience as an HR professional, a long-time dream of being an entrepreneur, and a passion for the stress relief offered by kickboxing-style workouts. She started to explore her passion more seriously as her children grew up, and her personal situation began to allow her more flexibility. When Carmen found Jabz Boxing, she was instantly hooked.
“The Jabz Boxing workout truly does help everyone leave stronger. Each individual in the ring can get the right workout for their personal fitness level, while everyone benefits from the camaraderie that the group environment provides,” shared Carmen. “I’m proud to bring Jabz to the Bowie area to help people find their way to strength they never knew they had and to empower them to overcome any obstacles in their way, inside and outside of the ring.”
“I knew if I was going to open a business, it was going to have to be a franchise,” added Carmen. “With the roadmap the Jabz Boxing team provides, I can focus on growing the business instead of having to figure out all of the details in areas I’m less skilled at. With the expertise of Jabz Boxing’s corporate team behind me, I’m confident our studio will deliver an excellent workout and build a strong community.”

Jabz Boxing, where gritty boxing gym meets luxury boutique studio, announces the grand opening of its newest location will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Wesley Chapel, FL. Located at 28152 Paseo Drive in the Shops at Wiregrass, the newest Jabz studio will operate under owner-operator Amanda Greenleaf. Jabz Boxing brings a fresh take on functional training to the Tampa fitness scene with its signature HIIT-style, boxing-based classes. Jabz Boxing offers a premium boutique option that focuses on fitness, not fighting, and everyone is encouraged to “come as you are, leave stronger.”
With a background in management and customer service, Amanda always wanted to become an entrepreneur. She knew right away she’d found what she was looking for when she discovered the Jabz Boxing opportunity. “I believe in the process and the workout that Jabz offers, and I’m thrilled about this opportunity to offer a bright spot in clients’ day and help others feel better in their own skin,” shared Amanda. “Jabz offers an inclusive and progressive environment where anyone can come in and have a good time and a great workout, and, for those who don’t have a background in boxing, learn a new skill, too.”
Jabz’s science-backed workout incorporates elements of kickboxing, cardio, plyometrics, agility, and more into a fast-paced circuit that can be scaled up or down to safely deliver a challenge within reach to all. With nationally-certified coaches trained to offer clients progressive challenges, members continue to see progress over time and leave the ring a little stronger each day.
Leading up to the studio’s opening, Amanda and her team have been hosting pop-up events in the area to introduce the community to the workout structure, a sampling of the equipment used during studio classses, and the coaching team at Jabz Boxing Wiregrass. “The community is very close-knit in this area, and that fits along nicely with the community focus that happens within the ring at Jabz,” said Amanda. We’ve gotten great feedback from clients so far. We’re thrilled to open the doors to the studio to provide a safe space where clients can continue to get together, get stronger, and find a new ‘home.’ Boutique fitness is huge in this area, and I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to build the first Jabz Boxing community in the state of Florida.”
The grand opening in Wiregrass comes as Jabz Boxing continues to expand into key markets across the country, including new locations that opened in late 2021 in Bel Air, MD, and Drexel Hill, PA. Jabz Boxing offers its franchise partners a robust business training system to help new business owners become champion-level studio owners. With boutique fitness ranking as the fastest growing sector in the fitness industry, there’s no better time to bring Jabz Boxing to your area.
Jabz Boxing Bel Air opened in early November, but already in the first two months of operations, the Jabz team has been warmly welcomed to town, and a diverse and robust community is building within the ring. Helen and Larry O’Keefe have always enjoyed staying active and were excited to open the first Jabz Boxing studio in the state of Maryland. After experiencing Jabz Boxing for themselves, they believed in the product and were excited to offer the opportunity for others to see success in their own health and fitness journeys. But already the experience has been better than they would have imagined.
“We are long-time residents of Harford County, and knew our studio would be welcomed here by various civic groups and members of the community,” shared Helen. “It means a lot to us to be welcomed by everyone in the area, from the officials who attended our ribbon-cutting ceremony to the friends and family who have dropped in to see what we’re about. Once someone has tried the Jabz workout, they love to tell their friends about it, so we are reaching a really wide audience; men and women, various fitness levels, from sixteen-year-olds to limitless. We knew Jabz is something that can be fun and challenging for everyone, but it’s another thing to see it take place organically and in front of our own eyes.”
The sense of community and support is not just reflective of how Jabz has been received by the residents of Harford County. The studio team mirrors these values within the ring daily, offering clients a welcoming, community-driven space that blends fitness with a sense of purpose and, of course, fun.
Even in the short time since the studio opened, members have started to see results, from weight loss to increased endurance to feeling a sense of belonging. “We have had members share that they have felt more accepted here than at other gyms they have tried, members who could not complete their first round of the circuit on their first visit – but who have now built the stamina to finish the entire class, and members who have organized a group chat and help hold each other accountable for their workout routine. These are the kinds of stories that drove Larry and me to open a fitness business, and I cannot wait to see all the successes our current and future members achieve,” shared Helen.
“The excellent environment we provide really comes down to our coaching team,” said Helen of the in-studio experience at Jabz Boxing Bel Air. “I’ve seen our lead coach attend class to workout alongside beginner clients who need a little extra guidance, and I’ve seen our team push clients to add weight or increase the intensity when they are ready for a new challenge.”
From vendor selection to studio layout to the science-backed class programming, Helen has appreciated the structure offered by franchising with Jabz Boxing. “Having the outline of the right systems to have in place has proven to be especially helpful now that we are open,” shared Helen. “Between the training and systems Jabz’s corporate team has provided, along with being surrounded by a great team at the studio level, we were ready to hit the ground running as soon as we opened our doors, and it’s been great to focus on building this community and supporting the goals of our clients when they step into our ring.”
Whether you’re looking for an owner-operator lifestyle or are searching for an investment opportunity with huge potential, Jabz Boxing has much to offer. Our leadership team delivers all the training and resources necessary to help you master the skills you need to become a successful studio owner. With this team in your corner and boutique fitness leading the fitness industry in year-over-year growth, there’s never been a better time to invest in Jabz Boxing.
Jabz Boxing Drexel Hill opened in late September, but already in the first six weeks since the team hosted the studio’s grand opening, Jabz has been warmly welcomed to Drexel Hill, and a strong sense of community is building within the studio’s custom ring. Before finding Jabz Boxing, new owner Shannon Crowley found herself frustrated by her experience at other gyms. She felt that many concepts lacked an effective workout plan, an approachable vibe, or a meaningful sense of community. After her first Jabz class, Shannon was hooked. She knew she had found what she’d been looking for, and she soon committed to bringing a Jabz Boxing studio to Drexel Hill, PA.
Fast-forward to September of this year when Shannon opened the doors to her studio. “I went from feeling terrified that no one would attend our grand opening to shocked at how many people were there to celebrate with us,” recalled Shannon. “It’s been fulfilling to be so meaningfully welcomed by everyone in the area, and our member base has shown steady growth. Already, we’ve seen clients who didn’t know each other prior to our opening begin to develop support systems for one another and hold each other accountable.”
“I especially love seeing our founding members welcome new clients with open arms,” added Christina Cunningham, Studio Manager at Jabz Boxing Drexel Hill. “That can really do a lot for first-timers who might not be familiar with boxing-based workouts or are nervous about trying out a new studio. The sense of accountability and family here is already greater than I could have imagined, and it keeps me motivated every day.”
“The positive feedback we’ve gotten from our clients says so much about the atmosphere and support our coaches provide and the type of people the Jabz Boxing brand naturally draws in,” said Shannon. “We had a community member who was diagnosed with breast cancer, and our clients immediately joined in organizing a benefit raffle to support the family. The raffle raised over $700, and the studio will match this total. It feels great to have brought something so genuine and supportive to Drexel Hill.”
Shannon appreciates the structure that franchising with Jabz Boxing added to launching her business. By franchising, she had access to the resources and training she needed to ensure every element of opening her studio was accounted for, which helped keep the process more manageable. “It was a lot of work to get through the opening process but working with Jabz’s structure and systems made it doable. The studio design was already set, so I didn’t have to worry about the layout or selecting what color paint I wanted. Having the universally programmed workouts is also huge. All the coaches can really dedicate their energy to providing a great client experience rather than writing new workouts each day and worrying about the cohesion of the program over days, weeks, and months. But what’s probably been the most helpful part of stepping into a franchise system is having the marketing resources and tools in place. Marketing is how we get clients in the door, so to have the structure of client emails in place, promotional calendars planned out, and to have the graphics and content we need, again, just helps us to trust the process that’s in place and put our efforts on making the in-studio experience great. And it’s working!”
Shannon faced her fair share of hiccups in working to open the Drexel Hill studio, including shipping delays on some of the equipment. But she found the Jabz Boxing team supported her through the process, even when the unexpected hit. “When we had an item arrive damaged, the Jabz team stayed on top of the vendor to ensure they replaced it for us. There are manuals and checklists in place, but I have a good relationship with the team backing those systems, and it feels collaborative.”
From Christina’s perspective, the resources made available through franchising with Jabz Boxing made stepping into her new role seamless. “I had a lot of prior fitness experience, but the business side of running a studio was new to me, and the resources the Jabz team provided were extremely helpful,” shared Christina. “I had guidance on what I should be doing and on what timeline throughout the entire pre-opening process, but I was also able to have a hand in developing our studio into what we wanted. The balance worked really well.”
One example of that balance was the opportunity to host beginner boxing form and technique classes. “These classes went over really well since we have a lot of clients who are either returning to working out after some time off around the pandemic or are new to boxing-based workouts, specifically,” explained Shannon. “Boxing-inspired moves don’t always feel approachable for everyone and implementing the beginners’ class has really been a success in helping clients build the skills they need to stay safe and feel comfortable in class with us. We appreciated Jabz’s corporate team working with us to incorporate this into our schedule on an ongoing basis.”
Jabz Boxing’s team of experts is committed to delivering the training and resources new business owners need to feel prepared for the ins and outs of running a top-notch boutique fitness studio. With this team in your corner and boutique fitness leading the fitness industry in year-over-year growth, there’s never been a better tie to invest in Jabz Boxing.
