What do you enjoy most about being a Jabz Boxing Franchisee?

I’m so thankful for all of the wonderful relationships I have been able to build through my Jabz community. Being a partof each and every one of our member’s journeys has been so fulfilling and rewarding. That is my favorite part about what I do. My members make me so excited to come to work every single day! It doesn’t even feel like work, I’m thankful for that and for all of them.

What inspired you to go into business ownership with Jabz?

The entire Jabz community was very inspiring to me from day one. When I joined Jabz I didn’t know what to expect, but after a few weeks I was hooked. I loved everything about it…it inspired me so much that I soon after became owner of the studio.

What is one favorite memory you can recall from your journey with Jabz?

Watching our members meet their goals is the most satisfying thing to see. My favorite memory to date is when one of our members met her 100 pounds weight loss goal. The fact that we were there to motivate her throughout her journey and help her reach that goal is the best feeling in the world.

Why should entrepreneurs looking to invest in a fitness franchise consider Jabz?

Owning a Jabz studio has been an amazing experience. It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s 100% worth it. At the end of the day, stepping back and looking at the community you’ve built is an amazing feeling. I wouldn’t change what I do for anything in the world.

Interested in Franchising? Here Are 5 Things You Need to Know Before You Invest

Interested in Franchising? Here Are 5 Things You Need to Know Before You Invest

Franchising offers a variety of advantages, especially to aspiring business owners. However, there are plenty of misconceptions that can deter many driven individuals from pursuing what they’ve always dreamed of. Here are five things you need to know about franchising as you consider taking the leap into business ownership:

You don’t need a background in business to be a successful franchise owner

Franchise owners come from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds. They’re teachers, military veterans, first responders—you name it! One of our newest franchisees Amanda Greenleaf, for example, held a career in personal finance before deciding to open a Jabz studio in Tampa.

While it can certainly serve as a benefit, a background in business is not required to be a successful franchise owner. There is a good chance the skills you’ve developed throughout your career can transfer over to business ownership. And, we provide you with the tools you need to succeed from day one, including ongoing training, support and the backing of an experienced leadership team

You don’t always need to be an expert in the industry

Just as it’s not typically required to have a background in business, you also don’t always have to be an industry expert to excel as a franchisee. Plenty of aspiring business owners seek out franchising as a way to enter the industries they’ve always dreamed about working in, but never had the chance. At Jabz, we welcome franchisees from all backgrounds. No need for entrepreneurial experience or a fitness background – just a passion to succeed.

And, as discussed, we all have transferable skills that we’ve accumulated during our careers, such as management, organization and leadership. As the franchise owner, it’s up to you to keep the business up and running. And, while you will have help from your franchisor, you’ll also have the opportunity to play to your strengths and build a team that can help fill any gaps.

You don’t need millions of dollars to buy a franchise

When you first hear the word “franchise,” you may picture a fast-food giant or a big box gym… and a lot of dollar signs. However, the beauty of franchising is that there are thousands of opportunities available that span a variety of different industries (and budgets!).

Jabz offers a low-cost franchise opportunity in the fitness space. The overall start-up estimate to open a Jabz franchise location ranges from $180,850 to $360,625, which is just a fraction of the cost of many traditional fitness franchise opportunities.

You don’t have to work around the clock

Every franchise is different, but you don’t have to be working 24/7 to see to success. Often times, you can hire managers and staff to handle the day-to-day operations, so you can focus on other aspects of running the business. Jabz franchisees have the freedom to manage their studios, and also coordinate with trainers and staff to help tend to everyday tasks.

You don’t have to navigate your journey alone

Franchising empowers you to go into business for yourself—not by yourself!

All franchises are built on the foundation of proven processes and systems, extensive training and support. When you sign the dotted line, you gain access to a variety of tools to guide you through all stages of getting your business up and running, and beyond. Not to mention, you’ll be connected to an entire network of franchise owners. Find out more about our franchise support.

Jabz Boxing Invites Drexel Hill to Enter the Ring

Popular Boxing-Inspired Fitness Studio Signs Lease at Pilgrim Gardens Shopping Center

DREXEL HILL, Pa. – Jabz Boxing announced today a local entrepreneur has signed a lease agreement for a new location nestled between Drexel Hill and Havertown. The boxing-inspired, circuit-style workout studio will open at Pilgrim Gardens Shopping Center, along the north side of the shopping and dining destination that features national and local retailers.

Jabz Boxing delivers unparalleled classes led by nationally-certified coaches in a supportive and community-driven environment. With the tagline “Come as you are, leave stronger,” Jabz inspires individuals from all backgrounds and at all fitness levels to step into the ring.

“After having my third child, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that made it difficult to work out,” said Shannon Crowley, the owner of Jabz Boxing Drexel Hill. “When I tried the Jabz Boxing workout, I was surprised by how fast the class flew by. The workout had the ability to be modified, and I never felt like anyone was judging me or waiting on me to finish.”

Jabz Boxing helped Crowley get back into working out, but she’s always had a passion for functional training exercises and working hard. As a Temple and Cabrini University graduate, Shannon Crowley is an enterprising business owner with more than a decade of experience in teaching and eight years as a business owner concurrently. Combining her experience in leading students and teaching math and computer science with her entrepreneurship background, Crowley is well positioned to introduce Drexel Hill to the Jabz Boxing experience.

In addition to Crowley, Christina Cunningham will manage the Jabz Boxing Drexel Hill. Cunningham comes from a prestigious athletic background with experience competing in more than 25 triathlons, including Ironman Lake Placid in 2018, as well as qualifying and running in both the Boston Marathon and the Philadelphia Marathon. Cunningham is a great addition to the Jabz Boxing Drexel Hill team.

“As we continue to grow in Pennsylvania, we saw Shannon and Christina’s passion for fitness and felt that it truly embodied what Jabz Boxing is all about,” said Danielle Scott, Jabz Boxing Brand President. “Shannon and Christina have the entrepreneurial know-how and the right mindset to fit the Jabz Boxing culture and we know they are the perfect people to bring Jabz to Drexel Hill.”

Unlike other boxing gyms, Jabz’s focus is on developing fitness, not fighters. The brand’s signature workouts combine boxing-inspired exercises with cardio, plyometrics and functional training movements designed to push clients to their limits and deliver maximum results.

The signed lease in Drexel Hill marks Jabz Boxing’s continued growth along the East Coast. With two locations already open in Pennsylvania and one in New Jersey and an upcoming opening in Maryland, Jabz Boxing is poised for continued expansion into new markets across the United States. Several franchise agreements in the development pipeline position Jabz Boxing to become the breakout boutique fitness brand in the post-pandemic fitness space.
